What is OXJAM?
Oxjam is Oxfam's month of music dedicated to fighting poverty. Whatever you're into - from club night to classical, folk to funk - Oxjam is your chance to fight poverty with music. Since 2006, more than 36,000 musicians have played to an audience of over 750,000 people at almost 3,000 Oxjam events, raising in excess of £1 million to fight poverty around the world..
Oxjam October 2009 has been the biggest and best Oxjam yet. Hundreds of events have been taking place all over the country, including the first ever Oxjam Takeover, which took place in 24 different cities throughout the month!Celebrity gigs kick start Oxjam's month of music

Oxjam, Oxfam's month of music dedicated to fighting poverty has been focused on demanding action on Climate Change. Hundreds of gig-goers had their faces painted blue to remind our political leaders that climate change costs lives, and that we want them to make the right decisions at Copenhagen this December.
