"Oxfam GB" email scam

We'd like to offer huge thanks to all of our supporters who have kindly taken the time to advise us of fraudulent emails being sent in our name.

These emails advise that Oxfam GB is awarding significant cash grants (examples seen include offers of £750,000 and £850,000) and they ask you to provide personal details - including your bank account number.

They include subject headings such as:

  • "Oxfam GB - UK Grant / Cash Donation"
  • "OXFAM GB BELOVED RECIPIENT"
  • "Oxfam-GB Donation [ Act Fast ]"
  • "FINAL RECIPIENT OF OXFAM GB CASH GRANT".

Oxfam do not give out cash grants to individuals, and never by any form of lottery or random selection. We will never ask for any form of up-front payment to facilitate a grant or donation.

If you receive an email like this, PLEASE don't reply to it – just delete it straight away.

Oxfam has advised the Charity Commission and we are liaising with the police and other authorities in the hope that we can stop these circulating.
